Inwood is the northernmost point on the island of Manhattan. It sits just below Marble Hill. Inwood is mostly surrounded by water and has a landscape filled with hills and trees, giving it a very suburban feel. Much of the residential housing is in prewar multifamily apartment buildings. Fort Tryon Park has beautiful views of the Hudson River and the Palisades in New Jersey. Fort Tryon is also home to the Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art specializing in European medieval works.
