Tudor City was developed by Fred French as an urban utopia in the 1920s. To create a sanctuary for workers to escape Midtown, French included a quiet park on the hill, children’s play areas, and scenic lookouts. Tudor City is on the eastern side of Midtown and between First and Second Avenues, from 40th to 43rd Streets. Full-service buildings feature views of the Chrysler Building and the UN. There are 15 neo-Gothic structures and some brownstones.
