Financial District

At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial District is home to many of the world’s financial institutions, such as the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the New York Mercantile Exchange, and the New York Board of Trade. One World Trade Center, reconstructed after 9/11, it is now the tallest building in the U.S. and the fourth-tallest building in the world. In the area are a memorial of George Washington’s first inauguration, museums, and the South Street Seaport, with shopping and dining.
